专利说明:

LAMP COVER FOR AN EXTENSIVE LIGHTING ARRANGEMENT The present invention relates to a lighting cover which is intended for use in an elongated lighting arrangement, in particular in so-called light strips.
[0002] A light band is understood to mean a lighting arrangement which, in comparison with individual lights, extends continuously over a very long length. Light strips of this type can be used both as a built-in variant and in the form of surface-mounted lights or suspended lights. They generally have a support element which extends over the entire length of the arrangement and which consists of several segments or modules and is used both for mounting or arrangement on or in the ceiling and for holding all the essential components for the light emission. As a rule, such support elements are U-shaped, the longitudinal channel formed in this way being used to hold the light sources and the operating devices required to operate the light sources. The underside of the channel is then closed by a cover which forms the light-emitting surface of the light band and has corresponding optical properties in order to implement the light emission in the desired manner. The cover can be designed to be light-scattering and also contain components with the aid of which the light is emitted in a targeted manner in certain angular ranges.
Regarding the cover mentioned, however, there is the problem that the corresponding elements can realistically only be made up to a certain length. Usually, these are plastic elements that are manufactured using the injection molding process or the extrusion process and at most have very little flexibility. They are therefore usually produced in certain standard lengths, although a corresponding light strip can extend over a significantly greater length. In this case, several such covers must then be lined up, which has the consequence that bumps occur in the light exit area at the transition areas between two adjacent covers, which can have a negative effect on the light output. Attempts are being made to counteract this by designing the end faces of the covers in such a way that they overlap slightly overlapping one another, in spite of everything, light rays emerging in this transition region are inevitably influenced somewhat differently, so that such joints are at least easily recognizable as before. This is due, among other things, to the fact that when the temperature fluctuates, the covers expand differently from the housing, which is made of metal, and can therefore be moved slightly relative to one another during operation, so that in certain situations the joints can be seen even more clearly.
It would be theoretically conceivable to create covers in one piece, which extend over the entire length of the light strip. However, the problem then arises that it is difficult to transport several meter-long covers to the final place of use.
The present invention is therefore based on the object to provide a novel solution for realizing a corresponding luminaire cover for the elongated lighting arrangements described above, in which on the one hand the problems mentioned are avoided and on the other hand the quality of the light output with the aid of the light emitting element highest The requirements are sufficient.
The object is achieved by a lamp cover, which has the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
The solution according to the invention is based on the idea of making the cover in one piece over the entire length of the light band, but different / 9
AT 16 669 U1 2020-04-15 Austrian patent office
Use materials for different areas or components of the cover. In particular, it is provided that the cover consists of an elongated, plate-shaped light-emitting element which is essentially flat. On the other hand, fastening profiles are arranged on both longitudinal sides of the light-emitting element, with the aid of which fastening takes place on the lamp housing. According to the invention, the fastening profiles are formed from a material that is more flexible than the material of the light emitting element.
Accordingly, a lamp cover for an elongated lighting arrangement is proposed according to the invention, which has a plate-shaped, elongated light-emitting element and fastening profiles arranged on the longitudinal sides of the light-emitting element, which are provided for fastening the lamp cover to a lamp housing, the light-emitting element and the fastening profiles made of different materials exist and the material of the fastening profiles is more flexible than the material of the light emitting element.
The solution according to the invention makes it possible to manufacture the lamp cover according to the invention in any lengths, in particular also endlessly. The decisive advantage is, however, that due to the plate shape of the light emitting element and the different material selection for the components of the lamp cover, there is the possibility of bending the cover at least to a certain extent and thus also rolling it up. When rolled up, even an extremely long lamp cover can be easily transported to the place of use and, if necessary, shortened to the required length. This opens up the possibility of realizing a one-piece luminaire cover that extends over the entire length of a light strip. At the same time, a material can be selected for the light emission element that meets the optical requirements with regard to high-quality light emission.
[0010] The fastening profiles preferably extend over the entire length of the light-emitting element. You can each form one or more webs, which are aligned essentially perpendicular to the plane of the light emitting element. Even in this configuration, the previously described rolling up of the lamp cover is still possible, since the flexibility of the material for the fastening profiles allows this. If, on the other hand, the fastening profiles were formed from a rigid material or from the material of the light-emitting element, it would be impossible to roll up the cover accordingly and there would again be the problem that the cover can only be transported in the extended state, which - as above already mentioned - from certain lengths is almost impossible.
PMMA or PC is preferably used as the material for the optically effective hard component, that is to say for the light-emitting element. These are materials that are often used in lighting technology to implement light emission elements. In any case, these materials allow the realization of a light emission element that has the desired optical properties. On the other hand, a thermoplastic elastomer is preferably used as the soft component for the fastening profiles, the optical properties of which are insignificant for the lamp cover. At the same time, however, this material is sufficiently flexible to allow the cover to be rolled up.
The use of a more flexible material for the mounting profiles also has the advantage that - in the event that the mounting profiles extend over the entire length - a very good seal between the cover and the lamp housing can be achieved. This also means that the cover reliably prevents dirt, dust or moisture from entering the interior of the light strip. At the same time, a very stable mounting on the luminaire housing is ensured, which is relevant insofar as the cover may still be slightly bent after the cover has been unrolled, and the corresponding forces between luminaire housing and fastening professional

AT 16 669 U1 2020-04-15 Austrian patent office must ensure that the cover can be aligned straight as desired, or that it can be fitted to the housing.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Show it:
Fig. 1, Fig. 3 schematically shows a view of a light band system;
a cross-sectional view of the lighting system of Fig. 1;
the design of the lamp cover according to the invention in an enlarged view and the lamp cover according to the invention in the rolled state.
Fig. 4 shows a typical application of a light band in which the lamp cover according to the invention is used. The light strip provided with reference number 1 is provided here as an installation variant and serves to illuminate an elongated space 100, for example a corridor, over its entire length. Due to the ceiling installation, only the underside of the lighting system 1 can be seen. Strictly speaking, only the elongated lamp cover 20 is visible to a viewer, via which light is emitted to the underside. Depending on requirements, the luminaire cover 20 can influence the light when emitting in a suitable manner, either to emit light in a very wide angular range or diffusely, or to emit light specifically in certain directions. The prerequisite for this is that the material of the cover 20 has corresponding optical properties, which limits the possibilities for choosing a suitable material.
A basic structure of a light strip system 1 in a sectional view is shown in Figure 2. The main component is an elongated housing 2, which serves to accommodate all important components. In the present case, only two light sources 3, which are located inside the lamp housing 2, are shown schematically. In addition, the elongated receiving space of the approximately U-shaped housing 2 also serves to store suitable operating devices for operating the light sources 3 and the lines for the power supply. In the present case, fluorescent lamps 3 are shown as light sources, which are arranged one behind the other over the entire length of the light band system 1 in order to emit light over the entire length. However, other light sources, in particular LEDs, could also be used. The housing 2 is then closed on the underside by the lamp cover 20, the configuration of this cover 20 and its attachment to the housing 2 being explained in more detail below. For optical reasons, the arrangement of the cover 20 on the housing 2 is such that the cover 20 is flush with the underside of the ceiling 110 of the room 100. The entire arrangement 1 is assembled with the aid of mounting brackets 10 which are screwed to the ceiling on the one hand and are coupled to the housing 2 of the light strip 1 on their middle leg 11 on the other hand.
[0020] The housing structure 2 of the light strip 1 is usually formed from a plurality of segments or units which can be connected to one another. This enables light strips of almost any length to be realized, only a corresponding number of segments or units having to be joined or arranged one behind the other. The modular structure of the housing 2 does not have a negative effect on the appearance of the light strip 1, since only the lamp cover 20 is visible to a viewer in the exemplary embodiment shown.
For the lamp cover 20, however, the above does not apply, that is, a modular structure of the cover 20 over the entire length leads to a significant impairment of the appearance of the light strip system 1, since the joints in particular when the light sources 3 are activated would be visible between two adjacent cover elements.

AT 16 669 U1 2020-04-15 Austrian Patent Office [0022] With the solution according to the invention, a luminaire cover is now made available, which can be implemented almost endlessly, but in particular can be adapted to the length of the continuous row system 1 in any manner. The luminaire cover is designed in such a way that it is not only relatively easy to manufacture, but can also be transported to the place of use with little effort. At the same time, the cover satisfies the requirements regarding the desired light emission of a light strip system 1 with regard to the materials used.
The inventive design of the lamp cover 20 is shown in Figure 3, here schematically showing the housing 2, in particular its lower end region and the cover 20 attached to the housing 2. The cover 20 itself consists of two different components, on the one hand the elongated light exit element 21, via which the light emission of the light band 1 takes place, and on the other hand from two fastening profiles 25 arranged on both sides of the emitting element 21. As can be seen, these fastening profiles 25 serve to fasten the cover 20 to the housing 2 U-shape, wherein the middle leg 26 and the outer side leg 27 are each provided for locking or jamming with the lower profiled area of the lamp housing 2. Strictly speaking, here the outer side leg 27 is clamped with a slight projection 7 of the housing 2 or a corresponding rear extension, wherein the design of the housing 2 and the design of the fastening profiles 25 could also be chosen differently if necessary.
According to the invention it is provided that the two components - light emitting element and fastening profile 25 - consist of different materials. In particular, a material is selected for the optically active light emitting element 21 which is suitable for correspondingly influencing the light emission. For this come e.g. PMMA and PC in question. At the same time, the light-emitting element 21 is limp due to the plate shape, that is, it can be bent at least slightly in two dimensions, which - as explained in more detail below - is essential for the optimal transport properties of the lamp cover 20 according to the invention.
The material of the fastening profile 25, however, is significantly more flexible than the material for the light emitting element 21, preferably a thermoplastic elastomer being used. This increased flexibility in the fastening profiles 25 has the advantage on the one hand that the cover 20 can be more easily attached to the housing 20 and at the same time - in the advantageous case that the fastening profiles 25 extend completely over the entire length of the lamp cover 20 extend away - an optimal seal between the housing 2 and the cover 20 is achieved so that the ingress of dust or moisture at the interface is avoided.
Furthermore, the flexibility of the fastening profiles 20 allows them to be bent relatively easily despite the fact that they have a plurality of legs oriented differently from one another, which in particular are also oriented perpendicular to the plane of the light exit element 21. The unit consisting of the hard component, ie the light emitting element 21, and the soft component, ie the fastening profiles 25, can therefore be rolled up, as shown in FIG. 4. Obviously, in this way, a lamp cover of almost any length can be brought into a form in which it can be easily transported, in particular to the place of use, that is to say the place of installation of the light strip system 1.
Ultimately, it is therefore provided that the lamp cover 20 is transported to the place of use in the rolled-up state and is then optionally cut to the required length, which corresponds to the length of the light strip system 1. In a simple manner, the cover 20 can then be attached to the underside of the lamp housing 2, so that a cover that extends in one piece over the entire length is created. It is particularly advantageous here if the fastening profiles 25 are complete
4/9
AT 16 669 U1 2020-04-15 extend the entire length of the Austrian patent office because the cover 20 is attached at every point of the housing. This is relevant in that after the cover 20 has been rolled off, it can possibly still be slightly bent and the remaining tension is absorbed with the aid of the fastening profiles 25, so that the cover 20 lies precisely against the housing 2, as desired, and thus flush with the underside of the ceiling .
During operation of the lighting system 1, the cover 20 can contract or expand easily due to temperature fluctuations compared to the housing 2. Corresponding measures must therefore be taken at the end regions of the continuous-row lighting system in order to accommodate these length variations and to avoid the formation of gaps or the like which impair light emission. Such gaps or disturbances in the light emission are no longer to be feared in the remaining area of the light band due to the one-piece cover.
The luminaire cover 20 according to the invention is preferably produced in the so-called coextrusion process. As a result, the cover can initially be produced in an almost endless length.
Ultimately, a luminaire cover is thus created with the invention, which can be easily adapted to any length of a trunking system. Due to the choice of material according to the invention, the transport of the cover to its place of use is no longer a problem. At the same time, however, it is ensured that materials are used for the optically relevant components that meet the corresponding requirements. The use of the cover according to the invention is not limited to installation variants. Of course, it can also be used for surface-mounted versions or suspended light strips.
